Liberation of Kilinochchi, Army’s greatest victory
SriLankan army troops have been captured the strategically important and the heart of Eelam Kilinochchi yesterday (1st of January 2009). This is been the greatest victory of the Army ever achieves in this humanitarian war, since Kilinochchi was considered as the capital of the Tamil Eelam. The TF1 have captured the Paranthan areas in 31st of December and soon after that Kilinochchi was surrounded by 3 directions, TF1 from North, 57 Division from West and TF2 from South. The soil bund which was build by LTTE causes many damages to the Army and delayed the raid of Kilinochchi. However, from the heavy battled in the boundary areas Army captured the soil bund and soon after LTTE resistance was diminishes. Offensive attacks from 3 directions were not bearable to the LTTE carders and they abandon their capital and flu further east. They also forcibly took the wanni civilians with them. Those civilians were using as human shield showing the cowardliness of LTTE. Now LTTE areas were restricted to a 40x40 km2 of area. According to the military intelligence only about 1800 LTTE carders were alive in the battle field. The capturing of Kilinochchi was a real New Year gift for the Sri Lankans as well as to all the people who against terrorism. In this historical moment LTTE will try to unstable the South by blasting some bombs and its our duty to ensure the safety and the security of our nation.
