Does fall of Kilinochchi imminent?

Sri Lankan army forces started this humanitarian war on last year and have been victorious over the recent past. Throughout the operation their main target was to capture Kilinochchi, Army troops of 57, 58 Divisions and Task force 2 & 3 have surrounded the Kilinochchi area in 3 directions and LTTE have no option than defend strategically important Kilinochchi. As a result of that they have created a several Kilometers long earth bund which delays army troops to enter Kilinochchi. During recent days heavy fighting were taken place in the near that bund and Sri Lankan army forces claim that they have captured several parts of that bund.

Since LTTE have the advantage of the land and the rain, the army attacks became some what seldom over the past days. This was not the army expected. On the other hand there were several incidences occur over the past days which give them a clear advantage. Many civilians form Wanni and Mulathiw came towards the government areas. As the authorities said, more and more civilians may come soon. Sri Lankan army march forward, hard and strong to the heart of Wanni. Next couple of weeks may crucial for both parties. There would be heavy death tolls from both parties.

Wanni humantarial war

Sri Lankan security forces are more concerned about the Northern Province as far as the present conflict is concerned. Though there are many isolated contingencies in the other provinces done by the LTTE terrorists but bulk of the activities of them is more centered on the Northern Province. It seems different phases of war is active in the different regions of the country. LTTE has the capability to conduct open offensives against the security forces in some areas of the northern province when it comes to the other region LTTE is active with the guerrilla tactics as single assassinations, sabotages and intelligence operations etc, in order to counter that, the security forces have segregated ninety percent of it’s assets in the northern region to counter the LTTE open offensive capability by attrition war fare and the domination strategies.

Kilinochchi and Mulathivu considered as the operational centerpiece of the LTTE, therefore, strategically the respective area become the most important and the lucrative target or the ground of strategic importance for the security forces. Due to that, the greater portion of combat power has utilized for the seizing of the respective strategic objective. Among all the theaters in the Northern Province, Jaffna area consists of the highest density of the population therefore, for obvious reasons Jaffna has to be protected and well defended. LTTE southward maneuvering capability has countered and fixed to a vantage position, which 59 Division is successfully performing at present, also, 56 Division, 21 Division, 61 Division are too on the same concept. 57 Division, Task Force 1, 2 and 3 are maneuvering formations to the target area to destroy the LTTE and reduce the combat efficiency by launching attrition warfare methods to reduce the material and the human assets in order to make the LTTE combat power to the zero.

Adwanced SW Engineering

This is a summery of the first lecture of Advanced SW Engineering

The properties of Software Development

Softwares are inherently complex. Although there are many reasons most appealing reason is the complexity of the problem domains. Software developers have to thoroughly identify the problem domain, which is a fairly difficult task. Since the problem domains are new to them, it is difficult to develop and manage software. Contradictory requirements and Impedance mismatch between users and developers, makes the development process more complex. In addition non functional requirements and functional requirement changes add further complexity to the system. This situation leads high rewards for the developers over the other professions.

Attributes of a Complex System

· Most of the time complex systems are composed with interrelated sub systems.

· Those systems have number of hierarchical levels, which arranged with different kinds of subsystems.

· Intra-component communications are generally stronger than inter-component communication.

In order to develop the system, developers have to identify the exact requirements. However, ambiguity of the natural languages and vagueness makes the requirements identification more difficult. An object-oriented analysis and design method provides a solution by identifying the complex system as a collection of meaningful objects.

Major elements of object model

Abstraction

Encapsulation

Modularity

Hierarchy

Internship

This is the industrial training period starting from last year October to this April. This has been the one of my greatest time periods of my university life. I was selected to "Teamwork Technologies" training bay which is a originally a Swedish company. There were 3 from IT Faculty and we were having a wonderful time in Teamwork. Since it was my first experience working in a company, i felt bit nervous at the bigging and after some time it was fun. Mainly we were focused on the development in C# and asp.net. I was assigned to a internal project called "Time Tracking". Basically it is a time reporting system. It was my duty to implement the admin part and the time reporting system in web based environment.

Currently almost 3 months have been passed by and the project was inn its final stages. within the next week it would be up and running. It was a great achievement and given me lot of experience and exposure.
